Normanton Church Rutland Weddings are civil ceremonies only. Although it is a Church, it has been deconsecrated. Which means it can no longer hold religious ceremonies. This will rule out this wedding venue for some couples. But if you’re planning a civil ceremony then this could be the perfect choice.
Where is Normanton Church?
Rutland is the smallest county in England. Situated in the East Midlands between Leicestershire and Peterborough. Rutland water is a reservoir kept and managed by Anglian Water. Normanton Church is situated at the end of a jetty on the east side of the reservoir. From the church you look across the water at Hambleton Peninsula.

Wedding ceremonies can take place at either end of Normanton Church. The far end is the most popular. The church used to be a museum, and relics from this time can still be seen on the wall. Although some couples find the thought of the tools in their wedding photos a bit odd. Most do not see as it a problem and in keeping with this iconic church’s history.
